CMT offers a wide range of HHS Forstner Bits in the most popular diameters, including difficult to find metric sizes. These bits are available individually or in beautiful wooden box sets. You get high performance stagger tooth design on all larger diameter bits (over 1 or 25mm) for clean sharp holes with straight sides and flat bottoms. These bits are ideal for drill presses, electric and cordless drills. CMT Forstner bits are 3-9/16" in overall length.

I like these bits. They are inexpensive (try pricing top-of-the-line US bits), sharp, and hold an edge. My understanding is that CMT starts with Chinese made bits of good quality, high-speed steel and re-sharpens and finishes them to their specs. The result is a better than average bit for very little money. Degrease them before use, as the heavy coating will make the bit spin in a chuck if you don't.

I was apprehensive about drilling the inset holes for concealed cabinet hinges. But when I ordered the hinges from amazon they offered the drill bit to do the work. I took a deep breath and pressed forward. It was amazingly easy and quick. The bit performed perfectly and stayed sharp. Shavings flying everywhere. Quick delivery great performance.

I'm modifying IKEA doors on a drill press. Center pointer gives clear indication if it's centered correctly. A step on the shank gives indication of drilling depth. A great tool.
