I am kind of a carbide-junky so for my first Forstner bit set I wanted to go all the way, but not shell out the $130 or so the Freud 7-piece goes for. Boy am I glad I didn't. First let me say that I own a few of the larger Freud carbide forstner bits and these Woodline ones are just as good if not better. I believe these are the only forstner bits that Woodline makes(and only sold as a set), as they are really a router-bit company. On that note, I am slowly equipping my ship with router bits and have decided to by exclusively from Woodline. Oh, and all of Woodline's products are made in America!!!Only con- the box is pretty terrible, but with a little help from its owner can be made nice.

I tried these in some oak lumber and drilled some mortising slots. Worked great with a nice flat bottom. Thanks Woodline, and AmazonUPDATE; I used a few of these the other day in some soft pine, and they went through like butter. No splintering, and smooth flat bottom. Wish I would have had these before instead of the cheep paddle bits I'm use to using. Thanks again for providing a winning product.

Big name quality carbide tipped bits for one third the price. These perform perfectly. I'm going to get a set of their router bits based on the performance of these bits.
