The piece has tight tolerance - I have the freud forstner set - similar to Freud FC-107 7-Piece Carbide Forstner Bit Set on Amazon but a few years older. This extension fits very tightly, so there is little egging of the holes due to being off center. I do wish however that the set screws were a bit shorter. WHen using this with a 1/2 inch bit, the heads of the set screws would mar the inside of the hole as I went deep. Not a big issue, as generally I use the larger bits, but anoying. Will just have to get some shorter screws (Someday) ;-)

Used this to drill some 8" deep holes with a 1.5" forester bit on my drill press and was impressed that the tip of the bit showed no visible runout. Great for occasional use and at a great price.

I used this to drill some extra deep mortises. My only complaint is that it is difficult to get the forstner bit perfectly centered, otherwise it works well.
