First, I have to advise everybody NOT TO BUY from the Tool Hardware Shop! They will rip you off and they are rude! They sell this set for $200.You can find the exact same set from other sellers for $131. Other websites are in the same price range. ( $130 - $140 ).I have bought this set from the Tooldex ( you can find them on Amazon ) for $131 and I am very satisfied with the product. Great quality and the fact that you can change the blades is great. The set comes with spare blades.The Removable Storage Case that comes with the Milwaukee red case had a broken lid. But that's not a problem in my opinion because I bought this set for the bits, not for a removable storage case.And remember, DON'T get fooled by the Tool Hardware shop ! Look for another seller !

Milwaukee with its Switchblade self-feed hole cutters decided to tackle the problem of nail strikes chipping off the blades by making the blades individually replaceable instead of making a harder or more impact resistant cutting blade. For the most part it works.There are several drawbacks to using the popular selfeed drill bits. One drawback is that they require a lot of drill torque to cut through wood. Even the mighty DeWalt Super Hawg is maxed out at 4-5/8" in soft woods. In hard woods - well forget about it. Another drawback is the speed of cutting which is a little bit faster than a bi-metal hole saw but just barely. A third drawback is that as they take out all the wood for a hole the odds of hitting a nail and damaging the cutter is a lot higher than when using a hole cutter that is removing only the area around the circumference of the hole.The blades are high speed steel so while they hold an edge quite well in soft wood they do not do well in harder materials like plywood, tropical woods like Ipe and Tigerwood, oriented strand board, MDF, or Hardie board. For these hard materials tungsten carbide cutters are needed.Another limitation of all the self-feed drill bits like these from Milwaukee and all the others is that the threaded tip that pulls the cutter through the wood is designed to be used on soft woods in terms of the feed rate it provides. When cutting on hard woods and like materials the screw thread tries to pull the cutter faster than it can actually cut and then the bit and the drill stalls and the handle is wrenched around along with the person holding on to it.Where these Milwaukee and the DeWalt and other self-feed drill bits of this type do work well is when a hole needs to be made through very thick timbers. With a 5" or 13" extension the hole cutter can make holes through very thick materials and larger holes can be made than would be practical using a ships auger.When cutting through multiple top plates or sills with pressure treated wood we have switched to using the new Blue Boar Self-feed TCT hole cutters with their tungsten carbide teeth and large side gullets. Why? Well because they cut 6 times as fast, need about 1/2 the drill torque (so we can cut holes up to 6-1/4" in diameter using only a 18 volt cordless drill) and make less of a mess. Big time saver with the faster cutting speed and great not having to hold a 16 pound stud drill overhead all day or deal with an extension cord.With the Blue Boar TCT hole cutters it takes me about 40 seconds to cut through all 3 top plates with each one 1-1/2" thick. I can use the Blue Boar TCT hole cutters on a standard drill arbor or when I want to use a dust shield I can use them with the Hole Pro ABS shield and the Hole Pro arbor adapter. This tool is the best drilling , hole saw tool that I have .Effective design with easy switchblade system !Fast ,sharp ,handy and plus extra holder giving you more option to do job how has to be done !I'm very satisfied with Milwaukee 5 piece switchblade set and I WILL gladly recommend guys not only in plumbing trade but all workers if they know what is good tools !SINCERELY : ZELJKO
