I purchased these because I need long shank Allen bits for driver use and they have become very hard to find.First of all, these are completely misrepresented by the photos. As an example, the 5/64" bit is a huge chunk of 1/4" shank with the tiniest nib of a bit at the end, making them completely useless for many typical, countersunk hex head applications. Designed for no one!Secondly, in its first use, the 7/64 bit sheared off inside the flat head #6 screw I was trying to remove. You read correctly: #6 screw!Complete junk. Please look elsewhere.

What I like about these power bits is the speed at which you can fasten a screw. The screw can be turned continuously without repositioning the tool, the ball ends automatically funnel into the screw heads. The ball feature gives you an angle of 25 degrees, which is a perfect balance between strength and working angle. Protanium® high torque steel is much more than just steel and much more than just a name. It's a specification, it's a process, and it's a commitment to a level of quality unmatched by any competitor. With the exception of Protanium® Steel, removing hydrogen is done by simply allowing steel to cool slowly. That is not an effective solution, however, because hydrogen forms high pressure pockets within the steel and compromises its integrity. Vacuum degassing or argon bubbling is the solution to the problem of trapped hydrogen. Cleanliness is also improved, because the removal of alumina: the oxide of aluminum Al2O3 occurring native as corundum and in hydrated forms (as in bauxite), has the effect of producing very clean steels. With so many benefits, why don't others use the degassing technique? The answer is twofold. Cost is the first factor, and the second is the fact that not all mills are even capable of performing the task. Bondhus is the only hex tool maker that goes to the extreme of performing this all important step. Cross contamination has to be eliminated from unwanted minerals.I highly recommend these power bits and would buy them again if I lost them or they were stolen. I doubt that I could wear them out they are of superior quality. These power bits are superior to Craftsman that I received as a gift. Bondhus makes all different sizes both SAE and metric, so if you have a job that requires an L-wrench use a Bondhus power bit instead, you will NOT be disappointed. These are tools that a professional would want and every do-it-yourselfer. The bits do not taper down from the 1/4" hex shaft until the ball end tip. This means you can't fit the bit into heavily recessed holes but that's not a big problem for everyone. The small bits would be more likely to bend or break if they were made thinner the whole length, so which way is better is a tradeoff depending on your application. If you do want thinner whole length, you may want to look at hex bits with sockets, they are already constructed from two pieces so it's more common to be made with the entire shaft the same size as the end. Also, a problem will arise if you have to counter sink a screw and the bit is too wide to do the job, but again, choosing the correct tool for the job is imperative.Tool designed with your hand in mind, for even more power for easier working. I've been looking for these for quite some time: long-shank hex bits that lock into my driver. Hardware stores don't have anything like them for some reason. I got this imperial set along with the 10899 metric set, and they're now my go-to bits. Made in the USA, with ball tips for tough angles, and less than two beans apiece? How can you go wrong. Only complaint is that the smaller bits still have fat shanks, making them difficult to squeeze into tight spaces, and useless for recessed screws. Overall, a no-brainer.
