Forstner bit extensions solve one of the major problems with forstner Bits -- their limited depth capacity. This extension fits WoodRiver forstner bits only that have 3/8" diameter shanks.

This is the best Forstner bit extension I have used. Every 3/8" shank bit I tried, whether imported or US made fits this extender smoothly. Even a letter V drill bit, which is 0.002" larger than 3/8", just clears the inside diameter. The hardened set screws are substantial and withstood tightening without any damage to the 1/8" hex hole with the included allen wrench. Used it to drill out a peppermill on the woodlathe and it stayed on center all the way through without wobbling. Made in China, but it is a precision machined tool that any woodturner should find a pleasure to use.

I would gripe about the shipping cost ($7) but that's the seller, not the tool.I needed this bit extension a couple of times before I bought it. Once I bought it, I kicked myself for not buying it sooner.I recommend buying the 10" unless you can afford to buy shorter ones as well.
