These forstner bits are superior for woodworking because they produce perfectly smooth, flat bottomed and clean sided holes in nearly any material. They also bore overlapping holes and pocket holes for greater versatility: These general purpose bits are manufactured from high carbon tool steel (high speed steel) for durability all bits have a 3/8" shank and are specially hardened, and heat treated.
