I rarely leave feedback on Amazon but I figured this drill bit was worth describing how terrible it is. I'm a general contractor and I own dozens of forstner bits. Some are cheap, and I've spent over $100 on others.... I needed to drill a 3" hole through a 6x12 Douglas fir beam for an electrical service. I didn't have a 3" forstner bit so I thought I'd give it a shot. I wasn't expecting much due to the price, but it still fell far below my expectations.First (and probably worst) is this drill bit has a round shaft to connect to your drill. Obviously, if you're drilling a 3" hole, it's going to produce a LOT of torque. I own a few 1/2" hole saws and none of the chucks could hold the bit without slipping. 99% of all forstner bits have a hex shank. I guess this is partly my fault since the picture shows a smooth shank. Needless to say, this is a terrible design.Next, it is not self-feed. It is almost impossible to drill a large hole to any depth without it being self-feed.Lastly, I think I have butter knives in my kitchen that are sharper than this bit. It literally couldn't even start cutting through the soft-wood beam without me spending 5 minutes on the edge with a diamond file.Don't waste your money.

Exactly what I wanted and more! This Forstner bit was priced right and it came in it's own wooden case. Very cool!

perfect and decent price. Just as advertised and they have send it very fast. Will buy anytime again - love it.
